Keep the Essentials Nearby

If you are going to be sewing, you don’t want to have to run across the room to pick up essential items. They should all be within reach while sitting at the sewing machine. This is why most end up buying in a separate metal box, which can be set up nearby on a stand or on a shelf.

You should also do the same for your sewing guides/books. Keep everything on a separate shelf that’s within reach.

Also keep the manuals for your sewing machine and overlocker with all your sewing books, close by your machine. You can easily refer to them when you want to rethread your overlocker, or double check you’ve setup everything to sew a buttonhole.
